What is the reason for focusing on professionals?

MZM focuses on today’s professionals and leaders because they are the main recipients and generators of the cultural and social changes today; they are the ones that create and propagate the ideas that shape the thought and behavior of a generation. And, this segment of society has the highest rates of stress, depression, addiction, suicide and divorce. Their education, purchasing power and access to communications make them a strategic platform to positively influence the rest of the world.

What does it mean to be a ‘thinker’?

A thinker is a person who arduously and exhaustively investigates the ideas and advances that shape the world in order to assess their impact in our personal, family and professional lives. Moreover, a Christian thinker is someone who offers a Christian perspective in response to the dilemmas and questionings that our current world generates in our lives.

What is a ‘ministry’?

We are a ministry because our service is nonprofit and because we emphasize the spiritual needs of professionals, providing direction that comes from the Bible.

Why is there a need for an organization such as MZM if there are already many people working on professional and spiritual motivation?

Manuel says that the motivation that does not lead to transformation generates disillusion. MZM goes farther than the motivational ‘gurus’ in that Manuel tells us not what we want to hear, but what we need to hear. Manuel focuses on equipping us for personal, spiritual and work transformation by applying biblical concepts to the corporate, academic, scientific, artistic, and government life.

How did Manuel start doing this work and what motivated him?

Manuel started in 1990 speaking to the youth in the United States and addressing the problems they encounter. His desire was always to be able to share the teachings of Jesus Christ especially to the leadership class of the world.

Why does Manuel involve psychology, philosophy and science with the Bible? What validity does this have for life and the performance of today’s world leaders?

We are integral leaders, a product of our religious and cultural beliefs, our dreams and fears, current cultural trends, and also the concepts handled by the society in which we live. Our success and failures are never the result of only one cause but the interaction of all these aspects in our lives. Consequently, in order to be able to help transform our lives effectively and to equip us to think and act better, it is necessary to analyze and understand the aspects that influence us and to know what effect they have had in our present circumstances.

Where is Manuel Zarate from?

Manuel was born and raised in Villavicencio city, between the Andes mountain ridge and the Amazon jungle in Colombia, in a family dedicated to farming. He attended primary and secondary school at La Salle and then migrated to the United States when he was 17 years old to start his academic and ministry preparation.

How much would it cost to have Manuel speak at our event?

Since our organization is nonprofit, Manuel does not have a set fee. Generally the costs of an event are discussed ahead of time and they depend on each particular case.

Our budget is covered by contributions provided by foundations, individuals and Christian churches.
